Name Calling ...

I know it's so tempting to call people, especially liberals, dumb, stupid, idiots and so on, when they are doing things that deserve such names, but it has been grieving me a lot lately to see so many brothers and sisters in the Lord launching out with such things, or sharing memes that say such things. Who is going to listen to the "truth in love" if we are calling them such names and showing how we don't really love them? Jesus died for them as much as us and the only real difference between them and us is that we know it and they don't (most likely). So as Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:4 - "Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God." I think we can probably fit name calling into that list as well. Showing Jesus' love to them is very important. I also might add, loving them is not the same thing as condoning their actions. Loving them is just that, loving them.

  I watched President Trump’s Cabinet meeting yesterday and he was pointing out a number of the pictures he had placed in that room, making mention about the frames that the pictures were in.   He spoke about how he liked the frames more than the pictures that were in them.   He was interested in having the frames in the room match as much as possible. Grief is one of the most painful emotions known to humankind. It touches every soul, no matter the status, strength, or spiritual maturity. Yet within the ache of loss, the Bible reveals something profound — grief itself can be a   gift   from God. It is not a curse or a punishment; rather, it is an expression of love and a pathway toward healing, faith, and renewed hope. 1. Grieving as an Expression of Love In John 11:35, we find the shortest verse in Scripture:  “Jesus wept.”  These two simple words show us that even the Son of God experienced grief. Jesus was not ashamed to mourn; His tears flowed from deep compassion and love for His friend Lazarus. Our own grief, then, is not a sign of weakness but of love.
